About TecFire
TecFire Ltd was established in 2006 in response to an increasing need for trained fire engineers to support business with the statutory requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Ron Hedger is the Director of TecFire and the Principle Consultant. He has 30 years of experience working within Hampshire Fire Service. He has been providing Fire Safety Advice to local authorities, business and compliance teams for the past 20 years.
Ron is a registered Engineer with the Engineering Council, a Chartered Building Engineer with the Chartered Association of Building Engineers and is a Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers. Ron recently gained his Master Degree in Fire Engineering (with distinction).
For 20 years Ron was an associate trainer with the Fire Protection Association. He has a deep understanding of current legislation and the changes that have occurred over time. This puts him in an excellent position when working as an expert witness or finding an innovative solution to a problem.
Ron has an exceptional breadth of knowledge of all aspects of fire safety and has many contacts within the fire industry. If he doesn’t know an answer he has a contact who does.
“As a Fire Officer I know how devastating the effects of fire are to those involved, as a fire fighter I have experienced the heat and smoke created during a fire. I would never want to experience that heat and smoke without protective clothing.
I am passionate about designing and managing buildings that people can escape from in the event of a fire.”
TecFire employs a range of professional who are expert within their field. In the office we have a smaller team who work to ensure the dependable service we pride ourselves on.
Heather has recently joined us as an Apprentice Fire Engineer. Heather comes from a background as a firefighter, having worked for Hampshire Fire and Rescue for 10 years. Heather is excited about developing her operational knowledge to understand the legislative background of Fire Safety.
Ryan is our graphic artist. He takes complex technical architectural drawings and transforms them into understandable representative drawings that show the Fire Safety Protection Scheme within a building. Only by understanding what you need to manage can you effectively manage risk. Ryan’s Fire Drawings make the Fire Risk Management process easier and more effective.
Tina is our Business Manager. She has recently developed the systems in TecFire to meet the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and is currently developing an apprenticeship programme so the business is able to support new and aspiring Fire Engineers.
